Future Communications App 📮
Time will tell
Available Domain: Futuresend.io
💡 TLDR: A platform which allows users to send communications to their future selves
1. Problem/Opportunity❓
The Problem/Opportunity: As you get older time seems to fly by. It’s scary to think it’s 2025 already yet most of us are still processing what happened over the last few years…

And with time flying by so quickly it can be hard to gain perspective. Pretty quickly days and weeks turn into months and years. But many successful people gain perspective by communicating with their future selves. Mr Beast sends and publishes videos to his future self. Sahil Bloom famously wrote a letter to himself back in 2014 which he opened 10 years later. This is a great way to remain focussed on what’s important. So why not build an app to make this accessible to everyone? Here’s what we have in mind.
Market Size: The global personal development market was valued at $47.7 billion in 2023
2. Solution ✅
The Idea: A platform which allows users to send communications to their future selves
How it Works:
A user downloads the app and enters their details to signup
They then create a voice note, video or write a letter to be delivered to their future self on a specific date in the future. This could be a voice note sent 30 days in the future to ensure they kept up with a habit or a letter written that gets delivered in 10 years time
The user can record voice notes, videos or write letters that are digitally and physically delivered to them in any period from the next 30 days to the next 10 years
Over time you could expand the features to send communications to others in the future too
Go-to-market: Work with a big personal development influencer on a campaign to get people using the app
Business Model: Charge a small subscription fee
Startup Costs: You’ll need to spend a few thousand dollars here to get the app built
Competitors: Futureme allows users to send letters to their future selves, but lacks most of the features discussed
3. How You’ll Get Rich 💰
Hold: This could be an amazing cash flow business which you hold on to for as long as possible

DRUNK BUSINESS IDEA
High Heelys
Back in the mid-2000s Heelys were all the rage. In fact Heelys were so big that the company went public and had sales over $185 million in its heyday. For context Heelys were sneakers with small wheels in the heel so kids could glide from place to place. Well it’s time to bring the heely back, but in a brand new incarnation.
Introducing the High Heely™. For the ladies out there who find heels uncomfortable to walk-in, with the High Heely™ you can simply glide gracefully and stylishly from place to place.
Only a 50% chance of falling over and breaking your ankle. Totally worth the risk.

JUST THE TIP
Trend 📈: SAD Lamps
The third Monday in January, aka Blue Monday, is known as the "most depressing day of the year”. But like so many special days Blue Monday was actually devised as a marketing ploy, specifically originating with a travel agency as an attempt to boost holiday sales. There’s no scientific basis for it being the most depressing day of the year. There is however a strong scientific basis for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) where people experience lower moods during the winter months. And one way to combat SAD is through buying a SAD lamp which emits bright light (10,000 lux), which resembles the intensity of daylight. And every year more and more of us are learning about and trying to fight SAD. So why not join the cause?

Business Ideas
Portable SAD Lamp: Create lightweight, compact, and portable SAD lamps for on-the-go use. Market them to business travelers, remote workers, and students.
SAD Lamp Rental Services: Offer seasonal rental services for SAD lamps. Customers can rent a lamp during the darker months and return it afterward.

THE MONEYSHOT
How Two Brothers Built the World’s Biggest AI Newsletter
Most brothers fight. Some are inseparable. Others aren’t even on speaking terms.
But these brothers managed to work together to build the biggest AI newsletter in the world.
This is their story.

Business partners. Best friends. Zain Kahn (right) and Awais Kahn clearly get on well.
Their roots are in Pakistan however in their early years the brothers moved around a lot. Zain went to college in England, studying International Development at the University of London before getting a Master’s in Management at Warwick Business School. Awais meanwhile studied Business Administration at Webster University in Geneva before studying economics at Simon Fraser University in Canada.
After college Zain worked in various marketing roles for CareGuide, Prequel, and Baraka. But in 2021 he decided to start applying his marketing expertise to his own personal brand, and set out to build an audience on Twitter. Looking back this was the best decision he ever made.
He started by posting 1-2 tweets daily and one thread per week, focusing initially on marketing and psychology topics. He also started posting short-form content and by consistently posting high quality content Zain grew from 0 to 58,000 followers in 7 months and generated 36 million views on Twitter. Interestingly though 95% of the growth was driven by just 6 threads (which you can read here if you’re curious).
After reaching 100,000 followers on Twitter, Zain expanded to LinkedIn, repurposing his Twitter content as LinkedIn carousels. Zain’s audience kept growing and by the end of 2022 he had almost 400,000 followers on Twitter. But in late 2022 everything changed for Zain when OpenAI released ChatGPT.
He knew immediately that this was a watershed moment in the tech world. So Zain pivoted to creating content about AI, which aligned with growing interest in the field. He became fascinated by the field and decided to start an AI newsletter to share his learnings with the world.
In early 2023 he reached out to his brother to get him involved too and the two set to work.
Together they founded Superhuman AI.

Initially, Zain published his newsletter weekly, focusing on simplifying complex AI topics for a broad audience. But seeing the potential and the feedback from readers, they quickly transitioned to a daily format (Monday to Friday).
By leveraging Zain’s existing audience Superhuman AI gained 135,000 subscribers in the first three months. They managed to achieve this while keeping the team small by utilising AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney in their content creation process.
After five months Superhuman AI grew to over 250,000 subscribers and as the business got bigger the team did start to grow, expanding to a team of 8 humans and 6 AI platforms to streamline operations.
The team monetized the newsletter from day one, selling ads and generating six-figure monthly revenue after just a few months in business. Believe it or not the business reached a 7-figures of ARR in just 4 months.
Today, after just 18 months, Superhuman AI has grown to over 1 million subscribers, making it the largest AI newsletter in the world. And since it’s just the beginning of the AI revolution you can assume that Superhuman AI still has plenty of room to grow.
All of which goes to prove that in the internet age having distribution is the ultimate hack. It’s a cheat code for whatever business you want to build in the future.
So if you don’t know what business you want to start right now then maybe you should build an audience instead in an area you’re interested in.
Like for Zain it could be the best thing you’ll ever do.
