Reading isn't dying, it's just spread across more formats and shorter windows than ever. The real problem is that the books themselves haven't evolved. They're still flat, static, one-way artefacts in a world where every other piece of media is interactive, searchable, and alive. You finish a great book, retain 10%, and never come back to it. Reading is the highest-leverage thing someone can do - and we're still doing it on technology that hasn't meaningfully changed in 500 years. Here’s what we’re thinking.
The Solution:
💡 The Idea: A small, beautiful, dual-screen device built for deep reading and active learning
🛠️ Product:
Two e-ink displays in a folding clamshell - left side renders your book, paper, or article in crisp text, right side is a writing surface with a stylus for notes, highlights, and diagrams. Sync to your phone or laptop later, but the device itself does nothing else - no apps, no browser, no notifications.
A local AI tutor lives on the device. Users can ask a question by typing or hitting voice mode to talk to it like a study partner. It runs on-device so it works offline and your reading stays private.
Every book and paper you've read connects to your notes, quotes, and questions. Search "what did Naval say about wealth?" and the device pulls the exact page from the exact book you read it in.
